OUR MISSIONS
Our mission is to educate the youth to environmental issues to achieve more in the protection of the environment: fight against climate change, reduce pollution, protect biodiversity!
Main objectives
– Promoting education of young people in and through sport.
– Fostering integrity and values in sport. Developing the necessary skills and values to address the environmental challenges: responsibility, effort, team work, decision making. Football is a tool to gather individuals about common values and commitments: fair-play, inclusion, integrity, respect.
It is important to include environmental education through football.
Sport can become a way and tool for federation and sport organisation to raise environmental awareness toward the question of the fight against climate change.
Our mission in action : 4 main phases of the project
The first phase aims to gather knowledge about environmental education and sustainable practices in the football world. This stage will lead to:
- developing different resources: benchmark of activities already implemented and educational tools in environmental protection, guide to good environmental practices, training methodology...
- recruiting young footballers for training.
Training is the core of the Planet Ball project. During the training sessions, young footballers learn the eco-responsible gestures to adopt and develop their environmental awareness with tool and ressources. They will put into practice the knowledge acquired through physical activities and collective sport games.
The Green football festivals is an opportunity to raise youth’ awareness of environmental issues with games and activities. Several Planet Ball ambassadors will be mobilised during these events to share what they learnt during the training: “Greener football” good practices, games... With the knowledge acquired from the project, the young footballers will become more active citizens.
In the final part of the project, we will focus on measuring the project's externalities.
